With milder winters bees and bumblebees are more likely to be active November to February. If there are no flowers for them to feed at they use up their stored reserves at an accelerated rate. In these up-ended concrete drains we have planted flowers that are bee-friendly and bloom at these difficult times. Broadacre bees will be able to "top up their tank" whatever the season.
