Nature in the Garden

Broadacre is a natural garden.  It is built around an old marl pit, now transformed into two pools ringed by trees.  There are few herbaceous beds but those are heavily planted with plants attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.

The garden is surrounded by woodland thickets and meadows.  These are home to a wide variety of animals and birds.

We use no pesticides in the garden (apart from a small amount of weedkiller on paths).  We use barrier methods and biological control to manage pests on the vegetables & fruit we grow for Country Markets.
